July 31 – ❤️-stones on Caitlin’s birthday.

Messages: “Mourning her loss and celebrating her life. What a light she was to every single person whose path she crossed. And what a treasure, what a beautiful friend, what an immeasurable loss to every person who was lucky to be loved by her.” – Monique

Katie – “I just celebrated Caitlin’s birthday by giving some cash to the several old vets asking for help around the Market Basket parking lot. She was so good about that. Also, I was looking for some of my favorite girlhood novels at a used bookstore this morning and came across this gem:

How grateful I am that Caitlin stays so comfortably with all of us in all ways – we have no problem crying one minute and then laughing the next. She is always present. Speaking of which –– every morning, I face the sunrise and do some tai chi kinds of exercises. This morning, a red-tailed hawk greeted me.

These things still happen all the time and they still take my breath away.

Having her final resting place complete has given us a lot of peace this past year. So many of you sent us heart stones in the months after her passing. It is now time to reveal how beautiful and comforting they are.

From The Leo Project

“Yesterday we had an emergency delivery at the clinic, and welcomed the first LEO baby, a boy who went home happy and healthy. Although our out-patient clinic is only able to deliver babies in cases of emergencies, our clinical team have decades of experience that qualify them to respond in these situations. It also reinforces the urgent need for a maternity hospital, and we continue to fundraise to build one adjacent to The Caitlin O’Hara Community Health Clinic so we can provide the kind of care all women, children, and families deserve.”

A little Leo baby, Caitlin’s latest birthday buddy. 🎉

More news: In addition to leading The Leo Project, Jess has begun pursuing her Doctor of Public Health degree at Harvard University. Bravo, Jess, you incredible soul. 🙏🏽

    ❤️

through you, through her words — Caitlin, whom I had not met though think of her as someone I have always known, her age and my brother’s forever the same — has helped me become a kinder person

as I told you earlier, today, before realizing the day, we found a future home for the homing pigeon we’ve been caring for … of all days, of the rarest chances of such a place as we found

thank you for sharing so much of your lives, of Caitlin, with us

    Mary
